President Trump is Delivering MAGA Foreign Policy

At the State of the Union, President Trump showcased how he’s delivering on America’s national security–and exposed the media’s misunderstanding of MAGA foreign policy.  As Secretary Rubio has explainedMAGA is neither isolationist nor adventurist: it’s the strategic, focused use of American power to advance core U.S. interests–and the polling proves it.

The MAGA Worldview

  • MAGA believes U.S. security and prosperity are best secured with Peace Through Strength: military dominance, credible deterrence, and global leadership.

  • 92% of MAGA conservatives back President Trump’s foreign policy (TVC, Jan. 2026).

  • 94% say U.S. leadership abroad made America safer in 2025 (TVC, Jan. 2026).

  • 89% say we must remain the strongest nation on earth (TVC, Jan. 2026).

  • MAGA supports decisive military action when U.S. interests are at stake–and rejects the Obama-Biden record of weakness, retreat, and appeasement.

Stronger America, Safer World

  • MAGA wants a military built to win.  55% want a military that can fight simultaneous wars with China and Russia, while only 38% of Democrats do (RRI, Nov. 2025).

  • MAGA wants America to be the Arsenal of Democracy by arming allies: 78% support selling U.S. weapons to Europe for Ukraine, 74% favor deploying U.S. military assets to defend Taiwan, and 72% back sending U.S. weapons to Israel (RRI, Nov. 2025).

  • Meanwhile, 31% of Democrats and 42% of the “very liberal” say the U.S. military is “too focused on warfighting” instead of social issues. (RRI, November 2025).

Communist China: MAGA’s Top Concern

  • MAGA sees the CCP for what it is: America’s greatest challenge.  86% consider China a threat, with 72% rating it “high” or “extremely high” (TVC, Jan. 2026).
  • MAGA is the most hawkish group polled on Taiwan. 83% say we should come to its defense; 75% describe it as a vital national interest (RRI, Nov. 2025; TVC, Jan. 2026).
  • If China attacks Taiwan, 75% back deploying U.S. military assets and 63% favor sending ground forces to defend it (RRI, Nov. 2025).

Securing Our Hemisphere

  • MAGA believes national security starts at home: secure borders, strong enforcement, and defending against adversaries in the Western Hemisphere.

  • 87% of Republicans favor deporting undocumented criminals. 89% say local officials should cooperate with ICE and cede criminals (CAPS/Harris, Jan. 2026).

  • 97% approve of the Maduro operation; 70% say we should help Venezuela restore democracy (CBS, 2026; TVC, Jan. 2026).

  • 74% back U.S. military operations in Mexico and 71% in Cuba (Marist, Jan. 2026; CBS, Jan. 2026).

The Middle East: Deter Enemies, Defend Friends

  • MAGA views Iran as a grave threat and supports action to counter the regime.  90% say we must stop the Islamic Republic from going nuclear (TVC, Jan. 2026).

  • 97% approve of President Trump’s strikes on Iran last June, and 86% of Republicans support his strikes against the Houthis (TVC, June 2025; CAPS/Harris, March 2025).

  • MAGA is America’s most pro-Israel constituency: 86% view its security as a core U.S. interest (RRI, Nov. 2025). 79% support military aid for Israel; 58% of Democrats oppose sending weapons (TVC, Jan. 2026; RRI, Nov. 2025).

  • 87% say Hamas must disarm; only 42% of Democrats agree (CAPS/Harris, Jan. 2026; RRI, Nov. 2025).

  • 64% reject the Gaza genocide lie; 77% of Democrats affirm it. (Quinnipiac, Aug. 2025).

MAGA on Europe: Pressure Russia, Arm Ukraine, and Strengthen NATO

  • The media portrays MAGA as pro-Putin, but the polling proves that wrong: 85% of MAGA views Russia as a threat and 74% as an enemy (TVC, Jan. 2026; RRI, Nov. 2025).
  • MAGA supports arming Ukraine. 80% want to help fight Russia, 74% want stronger Russia sanctions (TVC, Jan. 2026), and 62% of MAGA supports sending Ukraine long-range missiles and a U.S. defense pledge to deter future attacks (RRI, Nov. 2025).
  • MAGA doesn’t want to leave NATO; it wants to strengthen it.  82% support pushing Europe to up its defense contributions–compared to just 43% of Democrats–and 76% support U.S. military action if a NATO ally is attacked (RRI, Nov. 2025).

The Bottom Line: The media still doesn’t understand MAGA foreign policy.  MAGA rejects foreign entanglements—but also rejects global withdrawal. MAGA opposes reckless regime change—but backs pressuring and collapsing hostile regimes when possible. MAGA refuses to deliver security for the entire West–but calls on allies to help us counter China and other adversaries. The MAGA consensus is clear and echoes Reagan’s principle: We win, they lose.
